The Soul Story
Ok, before we get too deep, let’s get one thing out in the open – we’re from Australia.
Yeah, we know. Probably not the best way to kick things off with a New Zealand audience.
But we’re big believers in being open and honest. Always have been.
Whether it’s telling customers about where we source most of our produce from (hint: it’s local farmers), the origin of our coffee beans, to how we make everything fresh in-store daily – we know it’s something people want to know.
Because at the end of the day, we care about what we do, and we know people care about what they eat.
Which sort of brings us full circle to why we started Soul Origin.
Before we opened our first store more than ten years ago, we knew people were looking
for a better, healthier, tastier food option, regardless of the time of day.
They wanted a decent coffee, too. Actually, they wanted more than decent – they wanted the best.
Our family couldn’t have agreed more.
Fast forward to today and over 150 stores later, those thoughts have become our purpose - to create nutritious and delicious food, made fresh daily, using the freshest local produce. Because goodness in means goodness out.
It's a way of operating that’s hit the sweet spot with customers, and it’s what New Zealanders have been crying out for.
So just like a well-planned first date, we’re taking things slowly, but doing things just right.
With our flagship store at the Auckland Domestic Airport (followed by Mānawa Bay on September 19 we’re committed to sourcing as much delicious, fresh produce from local Kiwi farmers as possible (which is most of it). It’s our way of supporting the local industry and standing by hardworking families.
Our coffee beans are also sourced direct from Origin, graded, and then roasted right here in Wellington and our milk sourced from farms across the North Island.
We’ve found local baristas who care just as much about crafting the perfect brew as we do – taking coffee, but not themselves, super seriously.
And we’re sticking to the same healthy mission as we always have – to bring good times, delicious food, and barista-crafted coffee to all of our customers, whichever side of the ditch you’re on.
So get fresh, and pop in say g’day. Sorry, kia ora.
