We could go on about our years’ obsession chasing the best premium grade ethical beans we could get our hands on (before it was cool), or our rule to only roast with New Zealand’s best for maximum taste, or our fixation with using Italy’s primo coffee machines, and even our pre-occupation with training our peeps to put the love and care into every cup.

Using only the best beans in our brews means that we never compromise on quality. Having built strong relationships with farmers from around the globe, our coffee is sourced direct from Origin, graded, and then roasted right here in Wellington.

Our Single Origin Coffee is roasted in small batches and sourced directly from the people who grow it.

Knowing exactly where ingredients come from, and the growers we’re supporting is something we’ve always been passionate about. Single Origin Coffee, with its unique characteristics, exotic aroma and distinct flavour profile, offers full transparency and traceability of each crop, right down to the individual farm and community where the bean comes from.

There’s more to a great coffee than a great bean and roast.

For anyone that doesn’t take it black, there’s that often over-looked but crucial ingredient – milk. At Soul Origin, each of our stores is committed to using the best local milk available, including the extended family of alternative milks. Whether you’re into almond, soy, oat, coconut, skim or lactose free, we’ve done the hard yards to find the very best.

Then there’s the equipment we use.  You could say it’s one of the hidden ingredients to making a great coffee. Consistency being a cornerstone for creating great coffee that people come back for, we can’t afford to use anything but the best coffee machines. And the best coffee machines are La Marzocco.

There’s one other important reason why Soul Origin coffee is as good as it gets. Our baristas. We know that the best ingredients and machines in the world are only as good as the people using them. That’s why we invest in world-class training led by one the most acclaimed International Barista judges in the world.
