The Soul Origin group of companies, being Soul Origin (NZ)
Limited and its subsidiaries and associated companies including Catering by
Soul Origin and SO Espresso (‘Soul Origin’ and collectively, ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘SO’
or ‘our’) recognise the importance of safeguarding your personal information
and are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your
personal information in compliance with the Privacy Act 2020.
This Privacy Policy explains how Soul Origin collects,
stores, uses and discloses personal information you provide when accessing our
website, using our app, or engaging with our products and services.
By continuing to use our website, app or services, you
consent to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal

phone number, date of birth, preferred store location, postal address and
purchasing preferences, when you:

- download and use our Soul Origin app;
- register for an account on our website or app;
- sign up to our Soul Origin Loyalty Program;
- purchase products and/or services;
- participate any promotions, customer surveys, offers or marketing activities;
- place an order in store, by telephone or via our mobile, electronic catering or order ahead ordering
system; - provide feedback or otherwise communicate with us through our website, app, by email or social media
accounts; - contact our Customer Service team;
- apply for a position with Soul Origin;
- apply to become a Soul Origin franchisee; or

Automatic Collection: When you visit our website or use our app, we may use automated technologies (such
as cookies, usage monitoring software and session tracking) to collect and
store certain information about your visit. This may include, but is not
limited to:
- the IP address and domain name your device uses to connect to the internet;

- the date, time and duration of your visit;

CCTV: We may use CCTV surveillance at Soul Origin locations to monitor and investigate incidents, ensuring the health, safety and security of our staff, customers and visitors. Soul Origin takes all
reasonable precautions to protect this personal information from loss, tampering, misuse and unauthorised access.
Combining and using your information: We way combine the information collected from these sources with other personal data we hold to enhance and personalise your experience, improve our services
and ensure the security and functionality of our website and app.
Financial and Sensitive Information: We may collect additional personal and/or sensitive information about you, such as your financial details, genetic or biometric data when you apply for a position
with Soul Origin or become a franchisee of Soul Origin.
HOW WE MANAGE AND USE YOUR INFORMATION
Soul Origin may use the information we collect from you for the following purposes (without limitation):
- to provide our products and services to you and facilitate payment processing;
- to improve, enhance and personalise our website, app, services and customer experience;
- to respond to your inquiries, requests for assistance or other communications;
- to tailor direct marketing, sales and promotions of Soul Origin products and services;
- to assess an employment application;
- to assess eligibility and suitability to purchase and operate a Soul Origin franchise;

STORAGE AND SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
In accordance with the Privacy Act 2020, we will take reasonable
technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or
unauthorised alteration of your personal information. However, due to the
nature of email and the internet, we cannot guarantee the privacy or
confidentiality of your personal information. We may store your information in
cloud or other types of networked or electronic storage.

countries via an internet connection it is not always practicable to know in

Credit card payments are encrypted and processed using
an external credit card payment processor and details are not stored by us.

EMPLOYMENT APPLICATIONS
We collect personal information provided in employment applications for, including
but not limited to, assessing suitability for positions, conducting reference
checks and storing information for future opportunities. We may disclose this
information to referees, previous employers, law enforcement agencies,
educational institutions (to verify your qualifications where necessary) and
our related entities as necessary.
Your personal information will be retained for future job opportunities with us, unless you request otherwise.
FRANCHISE APPLICATIONS
We collect personal information from franchise applicants for, including but not limited to, assessing franchise suitability, conducting due diligence and complying with franchise disclosure requirements.
We may disclose this information to our related entities, potential
franchisees, referees, financial institutions, law enforcement agencies,
educational institutions (to verify your qualifications where necessary), and
relevant authorities
If we engage third party contractors to perform services for us, we will take reasonable steps to ensure they use it only for the intended purpose.
FRANCHISEES
A number of Soul Origin businesses are owned and operated by franchisees, who are required to adhere to this Privacy Policy. If you are concerned that there may have been a breach of this Privacy Policy by
a franchisee, please contact the relevant franchisee directly or reach out to Soul
Origin.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY NOTICE
We do not collect personal information from individuals
under the age of 13 unless it is for a specific activity, and we have obtained written consent from your parent or guardian to collect such information for that activity.
Although some of our products may appeal to children, our online services are
not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. If you are a child under
16, please do not provide any personal information to us. If you are a
parent or guardian and believe we may have collected information about your
child, please contact us via the details provided below.
OPTING IN AND OPTING OUT
If our intended collection, use or disclosure of your personal information is outside the
collection, use or disclosure set out in this Privacy Policy, we will give you
the option to opt out and not receive certain services or participate in
certain interactive areas, or opt in.

applicable law. Subject to applicable law, we may charge a fee to cover the
costs of meeting your request if your request is unfounded or excessive.
If we do not agree to provide you with access to, or to amend or erase, your personal information
as requested or otherwise meet your requests, we will notify you accordingly.
Where appropriate, we will provide you with the reason(s) for our decision and
the mechanisms available to complain about the refusal. If the rejection
relates to a request to change your personal information you may make a
